Overall, the course isn't overly challenging save for a few holes. The course went through recent renovation and is now one, 18 hole course called The King and one, 9 hole course called The Mulligan Nine. We teed off around 915 with very little play on the course. I played Starfire as a relaxation round of golf on7/20. It seems like it offers a good value for the price but it's a far cry from what we assumed was the typical Arnold Palmer layout/experience. While there are a few interesting par 3s, the course is fairly straightforward, winds among houses, and borders several busy streets. Maybe enough good things to overlook the fairways (which were in very rough shape).īut the course layout is nothing like Classic Club or Aviara.
#STARFIRE GOLF PRO#
Starfire has a lot of good things-three friendly greeters grabbed clubs from our car, and loaded up our cart the pro shop and restaurant folks couldn't have been nicer the green fees were only $28(!) the course was empty and the greens and bunkers were in very good to decent shape. But we accidentally showed up at ANOTHER Arnold Palmer course called at STARfire (which happened to be just down the road from the Wildfire-Palmer course).Īssuming that Starfire would be another course in the mold of the Classic Club, Tradition Club, and Aviara (all Palmer courses), we decided to stick around. When we heard that Arnold Palmer designed a course in Scottsdale (Wildfire), we wanted to give it try. The new 300-plus yard long driving range is an addition that golfers will love to utilize as a way to simply come out to practice their golf game or as a good way to warm up before heading out to take on the King 18-hole or the Mulligan nine-hole.We recently played the Classic Club and Tradition Club-2 excellent Arnold Palmer desert courses in the Palm Springs area. The King 18-hole course, in the traditional format, has been enhanced with new landscape design. There are several features on the Mulligan nine-hole course, including two sizes of holes to choose from - a standard size hole and a larger eight-inch hole for an easier target - as well as five different tee boxes making each hole distance longer or shorter depending on the experience of the golfer. There is also a newly expanded driving range.Īs part of the changes, the Mulligan nine-hole course now features a new innovative type of layout that will allow novice golfers, juniors, families and skilled low-handicapped players to play a round of golf all at the same time. In addition to the new menu items, Starfire’s golf course has been transformed into a King 18-hole (par 70) course and a Mulligan nine-hole (par 28) course.

There are also Sunday brunch options from 10 a.m.

Other additions to the menu include The Batman which features bacon, arugula, tomato, mozzarella and avocado aioli on Naan bread, and the Italian meatball sandwich.Ĭlams and mussels are on the new Happy Hour menu. New additions to the Starfire Grille include wood fired pizzas cooked in Starfire’s new Wood Fired Pizza Oven. “At the Starfire Grille we are proud to support local farmers, producers and artisans and everything we serve is made fresh on site with the best ingredients available.” “We are so excited to introduce these new menu items, and our new wood fired pizzas,” Mr. Hayden Road in Scottsdale, is not only debuting a new golf course and driving range as part of its $750,000 renovation, but is also offering guests a new menu at the Starfire Grille along with a new chef.Ĭhef Robin Murphy joins the Starfire Grille after spending time with the Arizona Cardinals, and celebrities like Madonna, Rascal Flatts and Aerosmith, according to a press release.
